According to witnesses, there were at least seven cars involved in the accident that occurred this evening on State Road 131, in the municipality of Sestu.

The pile-up, which occurred shortly before 6.20 pm at kilometre 13.1, occurred on the carriageway in the direction of Sassari, but shortly afterwards traffic also slowed significantly in the direction of Cagliari, perhaps due to onlookers.

The dynamics are unclear, and even less so the causes that led the cars to collide in both directions. One of the cars remained sideways, blocking the entire carriageway in the direction of Conforama. The traffic disruption on the most important road artery in Sardinia is very serious.
